My son who has been shooting IPSC for about a year and a half wants to move out of production class into another class. He is a decent shooter and does love the 1911 platform. He has tried his Kimber in single stack but wants to go to double stack and wants to go to 40S&W. He found a couple of new and used Para P16-40 that he is looking at. What do you think of these guns? I know there are some haters of the Para but I had a P18-9 and it worked great. I just couldn't get used to the LDA trigger. He can pick up a new one for around $650 in stainless. What experience has anyone had with this weapon?

After spending a weekend shooting my ParaUSA LTC 9mm, one of the things I decided that I wanted was a single action 1911 platform pistol in .40 S&W for shooting Enhanced Service Pistol division in IDPA and Limited in USPSA.
